  • Render time heatmap

Maybe it's a silly idea, but I often thought how nice it would be to have some kind of rendertime heatmap, like the heatmap script for fusion (http://www.svenneve.com/?p=738). Of course, this is something completely different since we are talking about a pixel image here.
Nevertheless, I often wish there was a tool to spot rendertime troublemakers more quickly, especially if you deal with complex scenes that where built by someone else.

To output the rendertime of each bucket would be a possibillity, similar to the VrayDRBucket Element, maybe in conjunction with info on the sampling.

The VRaySamplerRate render element may give you roughly that information.

So does the Sampler Rate include the additional render time spent on high subdivs in material/light settings?

I thought this render element only shows number of samples taken by the AA sampler - which would then not be an acurate representation of render time and would not really be useful as a time indicator.
Did I misunderstand the role of the sampler rate render pass?

The sample rate is proportional to the number of samples per pixel. While it is usually a good indicator of the time spent on the different pixels, it is not exactly the same thing.
