  • I want output size setting in VrayCam.

I know max camera doesn´t have this feature but can vray camera have?
I don´t want to have my output size set specific for the whole scene but I want to be able to define it for each camera differently.

+1 for this.. ive wanted it for years. makes perfect sense to me to be able to have a specific aspect ratio/resolution setting for each camera.

It's another piece of software but RPManager from grant adam is amazing for this. The XSI pass manager is really elegant for this type of thing and RPManager does this and more - well worth a look. I think you get 2 / 3 passes with the free version to try it out?

that would be amazing! I have always questioned why this isn't standard.

Thanks a lot for this - I will check RPManager and think that it will hellp me.
But I still would like to have this feature for each camera without a plugin

            +1 for me as well
I wonder for years why Autodesk guys haven't added that to 3dsmax std cameras yet ...
In fact, it would be probably more clever to have "Use global setting" / "Override global settings" then allowing to set custom output size for the current camera

You can use the standard Max Batch Render to have different output sizes per view of course, but I guess it would be cool to have output per camera

cant it be done as a view tool written in max script? something to change camera view and resolution with a click of a button?

If this is beeing done, please do add a warning with optional "turn off" on merging. I can see loads of merged cameras fubaring the setup

To me this would be an 3dsmax general feature, not just for vray cams.

It should be possible to do with maxscript by adding a custom attribute to the VRay camera with an additional rollout for render settings. Something like this:

Then wire the parameters to the render output size.

In theory you could add more than just image size, almost any of the render settings could be per camera.
