  • VRay revert to demo mode if no license is available

I have a vray license at work, and like to take the dongle home so I can work from home or do additional training. However, I don't want to always carry the dongle back and forth for fear of losing it. It would be great if VRay reverted to demo mode if no license was detected. That way, if i get inspired and want to do some renders from home, I can at least open up my scene and work on it a little bit. Just a thought...

    Thanks!

...ahem....nevermind. I just remembered that demo resets the render settings every so often (and saving/loading presets seems to just reset the options as well). I'll just have to figure out how/if my company will let me connect via vpn to pull the license from work.

      Yep, VPN should work fine.

logmein hamachi will let you do configuration free networking of drive shares and so on, and once it gives you the ip of the drive you're connecting to, using the same ip with :30303 at the end will nab your vray license if the server is running on that machine.
