Could the VFB be changed to NOT save the current region render area with the scene file? I've had a couple of instances recently where I've opened an old scene file, made a quick change and re-sent the render through backburner, only to find the next morning that only a region has rendered. Unlike the max region there is no warning when submitting to network rendering.

Reset VFB region render on saving

I've had this happen before, too. I think it would be worth saving the region - but having it default to "off" when you open the file perhaps?Check out my (rarely updated) blog @ http://macviz.blogspot.co.uk/

No!
Even though I have fallen foul of an unintended region, the current implementation has its uses:
We sometimes set up a scene (in rpmanager) with a base render and then create passes to render colour/furniture options.
I have been waiting for percentage based definitions of the VfB for a while. When these come could you not add a simple warning? Possibly:
"Vfb region set! Disable?
With accompanying yes or no buttons with an assumed no on a countdown.
Cheers,
Olly

There is a similar warning in rpmanager (for the native max region) when you press render.
I think a short countdown of 10 seconds (with the assumed no) would prevent people not noticing and coming back to a computer to find the render didn't start...
I am interested to see what other people think about this.
Cheers,
Olly

I'm not sure what that countdown method is, but I also second the request that there be some kind of warning pop-up when you network render when you have a region enabled. When you network render with scanline there is a little pop-up window that warns you, it would be awesome if that popped up with Vray. I've been burned so many times before, because I forget that I have that enabled when I submit a network job. Thanks!
