  • Link coordinates for multiple Bitmaps

I really wish it was possible to link coordinates for multiple bitmaps together.
For example - I have Diffuse, Reflect and Bump based on a single photo of wood, so obviously their coordinates need to be the same for all three maps.
It would be great to change the tiling and offset options for one map and automatically change them for the linked maps as well. It's not that bad if we only have 3 maps to adjust, but if it's a blend with multiple dirt levels, masks, etc. It becomes a massive waste of time trying to match those all together.

I know it's possible to use something like UVW xform modifier to adjust ALL maps at once, but it would be great to link only specific bitmaps, while leaving others with their original coordinates.

Any thoughts if this would be at all possible?

I think it would be useful to a lot of people

you could wire those settings to a central node. But as far as I know such thing is not possible in 3ds max.

Can you not use slate and use a linear float node to link specific maps' coords together?

Imagine that... exactly what I needed , perhaps a bit more fiddly, but does the job
        Thanks a lot!
I wonder how I missed it

Hahaha I thought be making a stupid suggestion there :P

Unfortunately (afaik) these functions are not yet available to maxscript (maybe they are now in 2014) meaning it can't be scripted yet
It's a shame you can't instance spinner values using copy+paste style functionality in the classic mat editor. You can wire parameters but it's way too cumbersome.
