  • VRay Camera Lister

As the title suggests, with the functionality of the VRay Light lister, and the ability to copy and paste settings from one camera to another.

All it needs to include are the most used/important controls such as Focal Length, F-number, Colour temperature, Shutter speed & ISO, and perhaps a checkbox to turn DoF on and off. I just think it would be useful on scenes with dozens of cameras, in the same way the light lister is.

Glad to hear it. I can understand it probably isn't a priority, but it would make my life a lot easier in certain projects.

Already made this script for this exact purpose.

            http://www.scriptspot.com/3ds-max/sc...ect-properties

            About the script:
This script allows you to copy and paste properties from one object to another (or multiple at once).
This is useful for copying camera settings from one to another. Although it will do any type of object you copy from. You can easily include/exclude any properties you DONT want copied (like FOV, focal length, etc).

You can also copy an object's properties from one open max file to another open max instance because the script just writes a txt file with the properties.

I wrote a VRay Camera Manager which has the following:
              • List and edit the most used VRay Physical Camera parameters in an easy to read table
              • Change the settings of multiple cameras without selecting in scene
              • Shutter priority mode - lock the shutter speed and vary the aperture or film ISO keeping the exposure constant.
              • Aperture priority mode
              • Film ISO priority mode
              • Sort the table contents by clicking on the column headers

And from the right click menu:
              • Select camera
              • Send camera to the current or camera VP
              • Copy and paste settings between cameras
              • Convert perspective viewport to a Vray camera
              • Convert non VRay camera to a VRay camera
              • Delete camera

                Am I missing something ?

I'm doing more work in 3D these days and would desperately love a Camera Lister - this is now 7 years later ?

Light Lister, but no Camera Lister ?

But I guess this is also an Autodesk issue - as we're not just talking about VRay cameras, but Corona, and Physical Cameras too...

Would love this feature. I'm placing 20-30 cameras in a single scene and need a tool to control them efficiently.

                      Me too - I'm doing a 18 VR scene with 61 cameras.....

The Batch Renderer could do with some nice tweaks too - selecting/deselecting cameras in that is all a bit of a pain as well....

It might come with Update 1 at the end of next month.
If it was that easy, it would have already been done

4dstudio just out of curiosity why do you need so many cameras?
