  • Globally enable/disable interpolation

I've run into the issue that I need to render a scene quickly for preview purposes, consisting of mostly glass. Now I throw over a simple glass material for speed purposes via the Override Material setting in the render settings, but my reflection interpolation settings from the now not used glass material are still being calculated. AParrently the Override material kicks in at a later scene preparation stage? Dunno. Anyways - a checkbox for globally disabling that setting would be nice.

Probably a better idea would be to fix the override issue rather than adding more checkboxes

use the VMC script to turn off all interpolation.

Oh, I think you may have misunderstood me. I actually do want interpolation in my final rendering and set it up accordingly. Now to test some other stuff I used a refractive override material for all objects. And that override material is NOT interpolated. But still VRay calculates the interpolation map despite all objects have a material which doesnt use interpolation.

There is the same issues for loading maps which then aren't used as the override material goes on the objects which maps have been loaded for.

Yeah, it's the same issue - the override kicks in a bit later in the rendering process and some of the setup work is performed on the original materials.
