  • Global Subdiv override

    Hi Team

    Would be nice to have a global override for subdivisions. Currently I have a script which let me set all the lights or all the material subdivs to a certain number and it works great.

    BUT

    There are times when you don't want to change your light or material subdivs of the scene (and xrefs) but actually set it all to a certain number like 8 default for example as an override

    What I do, is set the global subdivs multiplier to 0, and then just use the min. shading rate to get the desired sampling. This seems to work well - I'm not sure that adding an override is needed.

        Yes, there is that. I haven't used that in a long time though I can make it so that the global subdivs does not affect the irradiance map.

          That would be great as I use the min shading rate and global subdivs multiplier at 0 trick a lot.

            Subdiv mult to 0 is the default setting in my current studio...

              Please Vlado, it could be so helpfull to have global subdivs multiplier at 0 and a not messed irradiance map at the same time

                The problem also with multiplier at 0 is for example DomeLight. We have to oversample a lot to get clean lighting with domelight.
