  • Camera specific image aspect ratios

Often I'll set up a scene and have multiple cameras, for example a product where one camera will be at 16:9 aspect ratio. I want other cameras to have different Aspect ratios, for example maybe portrait, or 3:2 - but they all take the same common aspect ratio from the Render Settings Dialog - Common Tab .

Yes, I appreciate that this is a big ask (and probably should be aimed at Autodesk) but it might stand a better chance being implemented in VRay than with them !

Batch camera render script allows you to do this (and much more) Plus it allows you to manage all cameras resolutions from one place which is more convenient than setting aspect ratios in each camera separately.

But batch render scripts don't handle stuff like cameras you're using for camera mapping, which need to have a different resolution not only at render time but at projection time. So having the different resolution per camera would be necessary to also allow for that workflow.

I see. Well, considering the time it took autodesk to finally update the camera in max 2016 one can safely assume that adding that feature will take at least a decade.

Not to mention that the "new" cam in max was implemented because chaosgroup gave them the code of vray's camera...
