Hi there,
I´m quite often rendering an extrapass with standard lights, black material override and max standard Volumelight atmospheric effect to get a simple and fast layer with "godrays", something I found impossible to achieve with Vray Environment Fog so far (please correct me if I´m wrong).
So why wish for a vray effect, that does the same?
Because max standard volume light effect only comes in 8 bit, which leads to ugly banding, also it can only use shadow maps, which of course has its own restrictions.
It would probably be most awsome beeing able to either render it into the beauty pass and use the lights already in the scene, or as an extra render element.
