Just wondering if its possible to have the Host computer selectable on the fly while using distributed rendering to enable/disable it?

Id use this quite often. Multi tasking for one.
Additionally, some jobs consistently "time out" (or so backburner calls it) in the middle of a render. And disabling the local host for those seems to help.
I guess something to do with the server being too busy to ping back to the manager and say its ok, but I really have no idea what Im talking about.

Im not using DR through BB but have found a work around where I initially turn off "use local host" and then if I want to enable or disable the local host I run the DR spawner on the host that Im working on. The only downside is I dont get to see the LC calc but the rest seems to work ok.Cheers,

+1 for this
Would love more control over DR nodes when submitting jobs through backburner. At the moment I submit all my jobs to one computer that then distributes the work across several other machines. The Distributed rendering settings in the rollout is empty. It would be awesome to be able to add or remove machines form the current job if anyone complains about their machine's resources being used. I've also had problems submitting a job with 'Use local host' disabled. I don't think it's possible to submit a Backburner job with the local host disabled.Brendan Coyle | www.brendancoyle.com
