It would be great if there was something similar to MR's old rasterized motion blur/dof option in which it would use the deep sample data accessible to the renderer to perform a really high quality DOF with minimal to no fringing or other such artifacts. Even solutions like Peregrine Lab's DOF plugin which uses deep depth maps only use the flat RGB data which can result in fringing. Having a fast-hack option to bake in DOF that isn't 'true' DOF but is close enough would be very welcome, especially if it (like the old stereohelper hack) actually would render occluded pixels revealed.
