  • World Axis for VRayDistanceTex

Would it be possible to add a "World Axis" to the VRayDistanceTex? So for example, everything below 10 cm in world space is purple, everything 20 cm and above is red, and a blend between the two? Maybe that could be the default if you don't pick any objects explicitly?

I think the distance tex works in world space already?

The units are in world space, but you have to define an object, I'd like to see if you don't supply an object it uses the world Z axis as your object.

hm, but that's just a gradient along world Z. You don't need the distance texture for it? Or maybe post an image?

Yup, but as far as I know, there's no way to do it otherwise. Unless someone has a suggestion on how to do it with current tools.

Just regular mapping in planar world space? With VW axes?

Yup. A way to switch between X, Y and Z would be ideal, however, 99% of the time I'd need this would be for Z (like a water line on a shore).
