LC preview in VFB and zooming in/out

When I have the preview option on or actually showing the LC (the "grainy" image in VFB while it calculates) it's all fine and I get a good preview of the whole image.

But when I zoom in or out, the filtering (or lack thereof) messe sup and I get a whole black image. This stays until I'm zoomed in far enough but then I can't see the image as a whole.
Is it possible to fix it?
