  • Gamma correction/VFB Corrections on/off on render elements

I might be missing something here, so excuse me if that's the case.
When saving all render channels on VFB, some of them come with all the corrections made on VFB (exposure, white balance, etc), even though you probably don't want them to (for example, when using VRayExtraTex for ambient occlusion or even VRayWireColor). We could have the option to "opt out" from all corrections upon saving the channels. (or can we already do that? If so, how?)
    Cheers!

+1 This is really annoying and that's why i can't use color corrections in VFB. Also an option to bake out the LUT's on the RGB would be nice.

I think this is more a bug than anything. For example you also don't want any corrections to multimattes

        +1

Please give us a switch to turn off vfb corrections for tech passes like mattes and ao.

VFB+ by Monotone Minimal allows you to do this. If you're saving direct from the Frame Buffer, just save the image with corrections, then turn off corrections and save image and all elements. It's only one extra step. Not sure what you'd do if network rendering though.

That looks really nice but ye... what about network rendering? Will give the trial a shot soon.

Sorry I may have confused you. VFB+ does it regardless of whether you're net rendering or not.

The second sentence was just a workaround for the normal frame buffer

Cheers! Do you know if for each render node you need a VFB+ license? Will become quite costly if so...

                    Taken from the VFB+ FAQ's

Q: Do I need to install VFB+ on my render nodes?
A: You don’t have to, but it is an option. Installing VFB+ on render nodes allows you to send BackBurner renders and have them come back color-corrected and with stamping applied. No additional license is required to install VFB+ on render nodes.

psd-manager has an option to apply/ or not to apply the VFB color correction when saving (Advanced Options Dialog). So you can decide per saved PSD if you want corrections applied or not.

But really this belongs into V-Ray.

Being able to save all the corrections as a LUT file would help, I guess.
One could simply save the LUT, render the animation/still without the corrections and reapply them as the saved LUT later on on Photoshop or After Effects, etc.

saving corections as LUT works just fine. a least exposure tab does.
