  • Direction of GI distribution

    Hi,

In our global illumination method the light ray is distributed and reflected evenly in each direction, even if we have only one flat polygon which is bouncing light(like on the picture 1).
Is it possible or is there any trick that can switch my GI distribution from surface to something like law of reflection with only one bounce? (not all the arrows like first picture)
It would be great if there was the setting which we can adjust the directional of GI between these methods.

Reflection Caustics in V-ray 3.3.05 behaves simillar, a lot of primary bounces in each possible direction.

I know that at the bottom of setting there is option Caustics, but it's extremly unpredictable and time consuming for interiors.

    Thanks in advance,
    Best regards

I don't think that this is possible with the current GI algorithms, and even if it is possible it will be very slow.
I did a quick interior example which uses only Reflection Rays to illuminate the scene (GI is disabled) which is very close to what you are looking for but the render times are way too high.
