  • VrayProxy pivot follows the geometry animation

    Hi guys,

It's been years we load all our animated people in our renders through VrayProxy.
Beside positioning them individually, we often need to rotate and animate them to follow the underlying geometry (footpath etc)
Now that Forest Pack work well with animation, we would like to be able to use FPP to scatter animated people in our scenes and benefit from FPP feature of aligning the mesh to the surface.
That only happens based on the pivot of the object, so we would like to have the pivot of our animated people moving along them.
I understand leaving Vray handle where the pivot needs to be position can be tricky so I'm happy to have a option where we feed him that data based on another objects pivot position (kind of the same way the display mesh can be used from another mesh) or just use the lowest position on Z of the mesh and keep align center to X and Y.

    Make sense?

    Thanks

    Any news maybe?
if anyone has any other idea on how to keep animated people in vray proxy following the terrain, that's good too

What exactly is the issue here, can you send us some example of the animated proxy which doesn't align as you would like?
How do you animate the transformation of the proxy objects, isn't it by animating the pivot point which will also move the pivot point along the proxy?
