  • When I save a file from the Vray frame buffer, can it go to the renderouput folder?

So whenever I save something directly from the Vray frame buffer, it defaults to the Max Scenes folder... no one saves their images there. But there's a huge chnace they are saved into the render output / images folder of the standard max project setup... so why can't we adhere to that?

Unfortunately we don't have control over that path. But V-Ray VFB Save button will use the last used path, so if you use the render output / images folder once, it will open this same path next time you save.

You don't need control over it. Just read the path of the current project folder "RenderOutput". Mine is set to a relative path to the current project. It can't be hard to figure out the output path from that and built it into the VFB. That way it will always save into the correct folder regardless if the user changed the previous render. We can have a tick box somewhere to use the project folder or not

Apparently there are two options here, one will be to be able to set a path but to loose the history or to stay like it is now and to use the last open path instead.

I'd like the VFB to save and load the history that is (for example) in %projectfolder%/output/vfb

                  Hello,

I think there are two topics here:
                  - The VFB History path - this one is in fact coming soon - the ability to choose the project folder for the history images.
                  - The "Save current channel"/"Save all image channels to separate file" button - currently we leave the the folder to Max. That has the benefit that it remembers the last folder you use. If we change this to be the project folder - it will not remember the last used folder.

                  Best regards,
                  Yavor
