  • V-Ray 3ds max IPR Button

I wish there was an IPR mode button on the Production Render settings near the Image Sampler > Type and a button on the VFB. I dont want to go into Active shade mode. Just make a button for look dev mode which would be progressive rendering with an IPR checkbox.

There is a button already in the V-Ray toolbar. If you click and hold the teapot button on the V-Ray toolbar, it will expand with an ActiveShade option that can start interactive rendering without actually switching to ActiveShade directly.

This still uses V-Ray RT though. Using the regular V-Ray renderer in interactive mode is not possible right now, but is planned for the near future.

    Best regards,
    Vlado

Hi Vlado, I was thinking on the same topic. When the V-Ray IPR button is made, will it be like Renderman's Offline rendering mode? I mean, will the render process be separate than the 3ds max process? That way you can render and sill look through 3ds max setting and stuff. You wouldn't have to wait for the render to complete for 3ds max to be freed up again. Maybe that could be a new version of low thread priority? Or a button that says offline render mode which leaves your version of max freed up?

No, that's not our goal. To do what you want, you can just run a local backburner manager+server on your machine and simply submit tasks to it.

Okay, I got it. That sounds more appropriate. Thanks Vlado for answering my questions which are often silly .
