  • vrscene references / stand-in

I would love to be able to include vrscene file references (similar to vrproxy objects) including materials and animation. Ideally I could also override certain materials / object properties from the vrscene file.

I see something similar looks to be in the works for Maya, is there a plan to bring it to Max? http://forums.chaosgroup.com/showthr...hlight=vrscene

My particular use case is to create a big complex scene that isn't animated, export it to vrscene format, then import it to an animated scene and override the object properties to make everything in the static scene a matte / shadow material. It would cut out tedious manual work of converting scenes to be used for matte / shadow passes with each update.

Yes, this will be coming to 3ds Max as well, but it will be a while before it gets into the builds. For the moment the plan is to have it in V-Ray 3.5 in the autumn.

    Best regards,
