  • Saving from vfb multithreaded

I could have sworn this was a hotter topic but I couldn't find any other relatively recent threads about it.

Saving to history and saving out of the vfb is such a painfully slow exercise. I routinely have to wait over 5 minutes to save an image to history. Almost 10 mins today with a 7500x5000 pixel image.

Are there any plans to make this a multithreaded operation?

    Thanks,
    James

    Hello,

We made saving out of the VFB multithreaded but it is using the Max saving functionality and they turned out to be quite unstable depending on the output format. That's why we had to revert the change.

Specifically the saving to the history is maybe something that we can improve as a special case though - all of it is our own code.
