  • render 3dsmax standard zdepth element with vray

Hi i noticed a difference in zdepth

I was using the demo of VFB+, so i could switch back and forward zdept/vrayzdepth.
Yet the standard 3dsmax zdepth element had much nicer dof then
in comparison too the vray zdepth element.
both have the same min/max values.

so is it possible that you can render 3dsmax standard zdepth element with vray.

Is the 3dsmax depth channel clamped and the vray one not?

hi joconnel thks for your reply.

but no, i have checked/unchecked those options.
like clip boundries, clamping, invert zdepth.
in order too check the difference in rendering.
i setup my scene using scanline and adding vrayzdepth and standard zdepth,
Then swith too vray. yet both scanline and vray will display a totally different zdepth and thus Dof.
"also with gamma on or off"
