  • save multiple render elements that have identical names

If there are multiple render elements set up with the same name, right now only one of them is saved when saving images after render.
Can this be changed at least for multimatte? so that instead each is saved separately, with _1 _2 _3 etc added to the file name?

It is very frustrating to find out only one of your multimattes was saved instead of all of them, just because you forgot to change the names for each.
Of course this finding out happens only when the scene is long closed and I'm doing the final comp in photoshop.

I have mine setup in maxstart for this reason, already renamed. I usually have minimum of 6 multimattes and 3 lightselects for example.

but yes, I agree +1, sometimes there's last minute things from the client and little things like elements not autorenaming just makes life difficult for no reason
    Kind Regards,
    Morne

It's somewhere on the "to do" list to look into this.

      Best regards,

Some multi-layer image formats also support duplicate names - like PSD. (psd-manager can rename based on the settings of each MultiMatte element and split them into RGB - but it is not required).
