  • Vray dirt "replace map" - keep map as sub-map - use unoccluded colour slot!

When I replace a bitmap in the diffuse channel to add some dirt, the option to keep the current map is there but it goes into the "radius" section, rather than "unoccluded colour" - which I imagine can't possible help anyone.

Maybe it goes into the first slot on the list...? so perhaps change it to unoccluded colour goes first (internally) not on the menu.

Huh that's a good point. Will look into it.

It's not a problem to find someone to look into it.

Whenever you get to it... another minor irritation in the vraydirt parameters is that if I drag a map slot from the lower portion (where the full map is listed, not just the 'M') I'm only given the option to instance or copy the map, not swap it. This was always highlighted due to the sub-map going into the radius slot rather than the unoccluded slot. I'd have to drag it from the radius slot into the unoccluded slot and then either clear or uncheck the radius slot rather than just selecting 'swap'.

Again, NOT a big deal... just something I noticed.

I'm happy to inform you that this is fixed for the upcoming release - the submap will be automatically placed in the "unoccluded colour" slot.

This is still in the To do lists.

That's great news - please don't forget (while you're at it) - to add the "exclude" alpha to the render element using vray dirt as mentioned in another thread!
