Rendermask - MatID ?

I'm sorry if this has already been discussed, but I'd like to know if it would be possible to add a MatID mode for the Render Mask feature ? we've faced situations in which such an option would have been a great time-saver

I created this script some years ago, but it still works brilliantly now

It's much better than wirecolours or object IDs as it's all material based. The only niggle really is with multi sub materials, as if you select an object with multi sub mat, it will change the ID for every material on the object, so sometimes you have to manually fine tune it.
