Like you noticed, there is a button to open the messages window. We've been also exploring the possibility of docking the messages window itself in the VFB, but the test implementation looked a little bit overcrowded and I'm not yet sure want to do that.

Best regards,

Yes, I noticed it, but too late. After that, I realized I never noticed it mostly because of the chaos going on at the bottom of the VFB, so that's why I made that other thread with request for cleanup
Vlado, a small annoyance for me is that the icon just opens the messages window in the VFB, it doesn't close when pressing it again. I usually set messages window off on the system settings and from the VFB I click the icon to briefly see what's going on and then my first reaction is to click it again to close the window.
My original suggestion, and current vote, would be to have the VFB bottom bar split after the ETA by a " | ".
Following that, the last line of the log is displayed.
A (double?) click on the bar could act as log opener (if the control can be made clickable at all, if not, ignore this entirely.).
Also, i too end up clicking the log button twice in the hope of closing the log window. Minor, indeed, but if inexpensive is less mouse travel (and i have a 5k monitor...).
