  • cpu management

Hey just comeup with an interesting idea. It would be good to be able to set number of cpus to render with in vray. Lets say Im on a quad cpu box or dual or whatever and I want to render 2 max files at once. So in vray I could go in and specify number of cpus to use at rendering.
Maya has such a feature quite handy.

You can do this in your windows task manager, open the task manager and select the processes tab, right click "3dsmax.exe" at the bottom of the drop down list select "Set Affinity..." and from there you can assign what cpu's you want max/vray to use. ie: on a dual xeon you will have cpu 0,1,2,3 to choose from.

Its usually just better to let the windows built in process scheduler take care of it though.. its there for a reason
