  • Quick and dirty GPU accelerated AO pass?

As the name says - an easy render element we can click once that just generates a GPU rendered AO file.

Oh yeah, and don't forget you guys were going to fix the exclude alpha system when you make a ambient occlusion element the usual way - right now it creates a black section, rather than an alpha when you exclude items.

I guess that isn't quick, as in, the render element is not "ready" - have to go to through several steps.

      And is it gpu accelerated?

Yes, it has to be setup manually. And it will be calculated on the GPU only if you use V-Ray GPU.

Yeah, this is why I'm adding it to the Wish List.

It would be nice to have!

            Yes, I see.

I wrote a script for us which sets up a bunch of ExtraTex AOs with different radii and I just delete the ones I don't need from the render passes then. Works for us. I suggest writing a quick script to do it for you then it's just a click of a button.
              Software:
              Windows 7 Ultimate x64 SP1
              3ds Max 2016 SP4
              V-Ray Adv 3.60.04

              Hardware:
              Intel Core i7-4930K @ 3.40 GHz
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780 (4096MB RAM)
              64GB RAM
