You need 1.45 for this test. 1.09 doesn't have the VRay light material
Such a loser I am, I don't know basic stuff

(I'd better don't post drunk anymore)

I'm confused, I thought you guys were talking about one of the EGZmaterials. So 1.45 has a light material? Does it require GI to be on? Would be great if it works like a VRayLight and with that in mind I also agree with Torgeir about the simple additions to the VRayLight. I've been having some fun without GI lately.

the Light mat needs GI to work .. it's pretty much a version of a Self Illuminated Mat..

Yes, 1.45 has a built in light material. That's why I removed the egzVRayLight material from the 1.5 version. They were basically the same thing. Though I would like to see the VRay one show maps in the viewport.

I chatted with Vlado about additions to the VRay light yesterday, and he said adding some more shapes should be quite easy. So if we cross our fingers maybe we'll get that when they are done with 1.5

Me too! I quite often would like to overcome "natural" behavior for the benefit of desired look.

Woh, I see the thread is very old. Are there any news on that?
