It would be great if VRay Fur could inherit the vertex color data that's present in the source mesh for the fur. In that way precisely painting the Fur's color flow / pattern would be a relief without having to resort to complicated UV mapping procedures.
Or is this maybe already the case if you assign a Vertex Color map to the diffuse channel of the fur? Haven't tried that before I posted this, to be honest.
