Not sure how easy or difficult this would be, but on the subject of Render Elements, I would love to see something like the following in the future
Light Select
A big dialog box, which could list all the lights at once, perhaps an expansion of the existing Vray Light Lister. Allowing you to group lights, choose a name and whatever other settings you would like and once finished, you just click OK and a whole bunch of Light Select Elements are created.
Multimattes
Right click on an object or group of, click create MultiMatte. give it a name and ID etc and boom, a Multimatte Element is created for the object(s) in question
