  • Easier selection of lights method under "Light Select" element

Since I'm on the wishlist section, this is my request.

When using the Light Select element, I know you can use H and select the lights and add them etc. But I wonder if there can be a tab where you can click directly on the element and have the light names on the scene show and you can just add them from there. The only problem that this suggestion would run into is that some people may prefer to select the lights by clicking on them. Just a thought.

I have written a script to tag lights in groups (a simple user property), and then another which reads that property and automatically adds lights to the relevant LS REs, which it creates on the fly.
It's way backwards compared to what you suggest, and hardly ideal, but if you have many lights it could be quite the aid.
Let me know if you'd like to try it.

      Hey Lele,
Yes I can give it a try. I also thought about this afterwards and worked out I can Create a Selection Set for each group of lights and then use that to select the lights per groups. It sounds like this is similar to your script?

        I use this script

It works great, but of course a built in solution would be welcome too =D

Hmmm... I just batch rename groups and I add them through the explorer.
