    is this something that vray can do? because the gi animation
    has no flickering or noise.

    Isn't this sort of thing, similar to light baking.. or am I missing something. baking certainly avoids flickering

      yes i think you are right, it is also precalculated. the only difference i think is that the lighting calculation is a cubemap, so not exactly the same as light baking which is rendering the gi map every nrth frame. because that is based on the camera point of view. i think this cubemap approach is more view independent? anyway here is the technical paper about it.
