  • Nightly or Stable: which one for just testing?

    Hi,
    just a question.
As I'm not in production with Vray 4 Blender, do you suggest to use the nightly builds (so I can quickly check the fixes)? Or is it better to stat with beta releases?

Hi bardo, You should be using the build only from the Beta folder. This is where we introduce all new changes and implemented fixes.

      Ok.
      Understood.
I'll check if there is already a beta of Vray7 version.

Sorry but I've checked the Beta folder and there there is just the Vray6 addon. Is it correct?
So as my question was done before the Vray7 version, I can't understand what you prefer to be tested.
Or is it planned, in short time, to put there also the Vray7?

          Yes, that is correct.

I posted a V-Ray 7 build two weeks in advance for you guys to try out, so we can check with you if we're Ok to migrate everything from V-Ray 6 to V-Ray 7. The confusion came from the fact that you bardo accidentally had access to the internal builds, which we didn't know about, and you were not supposed to have. So you were seeing both beta and internal builds, leading to confusion. Hopefully, this should explain why there are no V-Ray 7 builds in the beta folder.
As soon as we have something ready for the beta folder with V-Ray 7 we will post the builds there. But to make everything clear, from now on we will be only posting V-Ray 7 builds in the beta folder. It is quite stable when compared to V-Ray 6 and no real regressions were found internally, so the migration could be taken as official,

So right now please stick to the V-Ray 7 Build I provided, and then the next one would be V-Ray 7 as well but officially in the beta folder.
Let me know if this helps clear things out.

          Thanks!
