  • The production render is not working

I noticed that my scene is not rendering; the production render window won't open and displays "V-Ray: Render finished."

    Licensing issue probably.
Make sure the license server is not blocked getting to the internet.

How can I make sure that the license server is not blocked?
In the Chaos account section, my account is listed. The Chaos website states that the license is active.

This is a bug, Maybe cycles render hot key and vray render hot key clash.

It's not about that. The Cycles engine doesn't conflict with V-Ray; I even tried disabling Cycles in Add-ons, but the problem persisted. I tried transferring part of the scene with the car to another .blend file, and production rendering worked there, but when I imported the wheels from the car into the scene, the problem reappeared, and the production render window wouldn't open (the wheel geometry isn't even super detailed). I also noticed something strange: even after I deleted the wheels from the scene, rendering still didn't work.

Just popping in to tell I encountered the same issue. Interactive render works fine but production render doesn't no matter if it's on CPU or GPU, CUDA or RTX. A new scene or a previous version of the same scene work fine so it's probably something I added but I can't imagine what (I was just playing around with cosmos materials). Restarting the system didn't fix it.

Does the V-Ray Frame Buffer (VFB) popup when you start the production rendering? If it doesn't, there is a chance that the VFB might be off-screen during the rendering.

In my case it does, and so does the interactive render: I can see the scene rendering in interactive mode but if I hit "Render" at the bottom of the blender window I see the usual "Rendering" thing and after a couple of seconds it says something along the lines of "Render finished" but the vfb doesn't pop up. Even if I start the production render from the vfb dropdown menu, the issue persists. I tried starting from an old save and redo the work while starting a render every step to find what caused it but this time around I don't seem to have this issue. I still have a copy of the broken scene in case you need it. I'll attach a screenshot of the scene: nothing fancy, just a dome light, a directional light, some cosmos materials and some custom materials. The scene was originally a Cycles scene but I don't think that's a problem since it rendered fine with vray (once I set up the lighting with vray lights).

Can you please show me the log from the Console (Window > Toggle System Console) and see if there is something going on there? There is a good possibility we might find what is going on from the log.

I was looking at the wrong console, the one in Window -> Toggle System Console had the error clearly shown: one of my materials had no output node.
Although it is indeed a mistake on my part I feel like it would be good for the user if we could see this kind of stuff more easily.
Once I added an empty output node in thee vray tul_wel material it started working again.
What I find particularly confusing is that the interactive render works just fine.

Anyway, although I found the issue I made a video about it showing the whole process, just in case you need it:

Thank you for your time and work, I love what you did so far with Vray for blender, can't wait for the final release.
