  • Viewport and physical camera alignement

EDIT: Someone just started a thread in "Issues" about this exact thing so this can be ignored

Hi, I was working on a simple test scene and noticed that when you play with the physical camera fov and image size (I changed from landscape to portrait, in this case) some of the changes aren't reflected in the viewport when not using "rendered", this makes it hard to select objects (see attached images).
I understand that using the vfb and a separate viewport for working is the vray way of doing things but I still think it would be great if the software would allow the blender way, too; I like to work directly in my viewport when creating materials. One of the things I did not like when working with 3ds max was the amount of windows and dialogs constantly open.

    Long story short:
In landscape I can properly select objects

In portrait, selection is offset, making it hard to quickly change to the camera view and make small adjustments to materials.

As I said above, I understand that it's mostly me forcing my workflow on the software but I still thought it would be worth mentioning.

Thanks for your time and great work so far,
    Jonas

There’s an issue when images transition from horizontal or perfectly square to vertical.
    Same problem here.

Hi joni_giuro Thank you for sharing! As you mentioned, there is another thread but I would like to mention here as well that the issue has been logged [VBLD-1212] and will be looked into.
