  • OSL scripts almost completely unusable

    OSL scripts often don't show expose the node inputs and even when they do, it seems the node inputs aren't evaluated at all. They also often have a lot of randomly placed errors. Done a lot of testing and at the moment OSL pretty much unusable. Mixed with node groups being removed as a functionality, this makes it extremely hard to do a lot of the shader work I do in Cycles.

    Unfortunately, we do not have support for OSL implemented at this time. It is likely that we will need to remove the OSL Material node until this functionality is added.

    Regarding node groups, work is being done on this specific feature, and there is a high possibility of adding it in a later release.

    Of course, any feature you consider valuable to your workflow will be taken into account. I strongly encourage you to submit requests for such features in our Ideas Portal, where other users can also vote on them.
