  • Assets invisible with Vray-render engine

    Hi!

I have had issues using assets I have previously been using in other projects, to be more precise, ground environment assets (grass, leaves etc.) used with scatter functions. In all engines the assets are visible and usable, but in the V-ray engine they just dissappear. They can still be selected although not being visible. I have successfully converted the material nodes, but the volumes itself seem to be non existent.

Has anyone else encountered these issues or is it only me?

In viewport (shading) the volumes dissappear or atleast can't be seen.

Are you using Geometry Nodes to distribute those assets?
If yes, that is the reason. Instances of Geometry Nodes are not supported yet.

Thank you for the quick reply! I must have missed that, I was indeed using geotmetry nodes...

Are there any plans of adding support for geometry nodes?

Also, I'm guessing that there is also no way of getting around this issue as of now?

I'm not sure but probably you could try to add a "realize instances" to the network you're using.
With that, you could apply the Geometry Nodes modifier.
Obviously the scene could become really heavy and inefficient.
