Color management.

Blender's viewport and VFB seem to use different color systems.
Is this normal, or are they just not properly aligned yet?
Can it be fixed manually? If so, how?

If you bump up the gamma from 0.0 to 0.4 (sRGB) in the VFB and then save the image to history, it ends up way closer to Blender's viewport.
For some reason, the VFB seems to handle gamma a little lower by default.

prv_works I believe the reason you're seeing the difference is that in your example you're using a Blender point light. These do work with V-Ray, but only to an extent. Could you try using one of the V-Ray lights and compare the viewport render to the V-Ray Frame Buffer? If you still see any differences, we will investigate it further.

No, the light is definitely a V-Ray light.
But check this out—here’s another example with the V-Ray Sun. I turned off the sky to make the effect on the door more visible. There’s a clear exposure difference.
Look at the right image: the white door (marked with yellow arrows) is clearly overexposed in the Blender Viewport IPR. On the left, the brightness is slightly lower—less intense light—and it’s especially noticeable in the reflections.
Blender 4.3.2 here, and the rendering is compute with gpu optix, rtx 4070 and nvidia studio drivers.

The first scene here have same problem. Strong exposure in blender ipr viewport whit Blue vray omni light.
