      Glad you like it =)

      All
I change hair generation process so that it doesn't create temporary objects inside Blender. It doesn't properly delete them (that not actually a bug, thats how unlink works) so that after export your blend-file become, for example, 1.2Gb size
      So, please, update once again.

      One more video.
The same scene, but with a little tweaked cloth simulation. This time I render 100 frames by one export (previous was split in 20 frames per export-render) - geometry file takes 3.2Gb (6000 hairs).

          Re: V-Ray/Blender 2.49.12

          That looks awesome!

I'm in the middle of buying Vray Standalone because my license ran out (probably because I had some hardware changes...) for the Beta versions and I figure I should get the latest version. Can't wait to try this out!

I'm assuming it works to make grass as well? What are exporting times like?

Also, any news on the script's Blender 2.5 development?

It's only the first try of hair export. Of course I plan to add templates like hair, grass, some types of carpet etc.
Export time depends on hair count and render path steps (on visualization panel of particles settings ):
on test scene there are 6000 hairs with 3 render steps -> 1 frame export is about 1.1 seconds.

Also, any news on the script's Blender 2.5 development?
            Everything only next year.

            Some hair fun =)

Is it possible adjust how thin the hair is? Is this feature added?

It's just a first demo release. Of course, there will be as much controls as possible in the final.

                [UPDATE]
Added thin control to "Object" panel of the script.

                  Re: V-Ray/Blender 2.49.12

Thanks a lot. That was fast. There is a bug. If you apply hair to object and press Emitter to enable it. Then try to "export mesh" twice. It crashes
It Dosen't crash if you change "hair thin" everytime before pressing "export mesh"

Yep, it crashes a lot. It seems like python api bug. I need to test it more carefully.

                        wow, this is really exciting!

Andrey, did you use VRayFur for this, or does it render the hair natively?

There is no VRayFur for V-Ray Standalone. I just generate hair mesh.

to reduce memory usage you can try to set this fur object with dynamic option.

If I'm not in trouble this should be like export fur object as vrayproxy... is it right??

Do you think it's possible to have vrayproxy in vray4blender??

This shall be really a good feature...to exchange models from other 3d apps where vary is installed.
