Is there a hope for ipr?

In absence of devs news, my last hopes is on Blender 2.8 with its opportunity to have different viewport renderer engines...it seems that they're developing it with a new system to help integrating external render engines.

Anyway, only Chaos devs know when, how and what...

I second this notion, I've been getting longer scene export times somehow, and when lookdeving this accumulates fast, IPR would be a big time saver.
