autosave still locks up Rhino and the worst thing is: the autosave doesn't complete

During interactive rendering (either through viewport or through VFB, V-Ray for Rhino locks up Rhino and becomes unresponsive. This is a critical bug, that has been around for quite some time. Is there any hope this one will get fixed in the next update? As stated in the title, autosave kicks in, but fails to save the file.
