  • Vray DOME + HDRI/IBL

    Andrey,

    I was wondering if this workflow (see links beneath) can already be done with V2B? Placing a Vray Dome light with an HDRI added for lighting and background image, and then adding Vraysun for main light. This could be very good for architectural visualisations.

    Or if not is it planned to be implemented?
    Or is there another way to work around it in V2B?

    By the way, the latest update of the script (2.56) is working like a charm, thanks =)

    jorisAR, i think i've added texture support for lights... ok i'll check it...

      When I add a sun, there's an "add sky texture" button...Do we apply a HDRI here?
      When clicked it doens't give anything.
      So there is no equivalent of the vraydome light in v2b?

        It just adds VRaySky texture to Environment textures.
        You could add HDRI texture there manually.

        So there is no equivalent of the vraydome light in v2b?
        VRayDome equivalent is Hemi light.

          I haven't looked for a way to put the HDR in an environment or other channel, but I do have a sphere with an HDRI mapped on it. The material is "Light" and the texture is an HDRI. This lights my scene well without any need for lights or vraysun.

          Edit: The sphere encompasses my scene. It is my sky.
