  • VB 25 OSX

Greetings Geniuses! This is my second post on the vray|blender forums and I'd like to preface my issue the same way I did before -- Everyone involved in the development of VB is brilliant. Just Brilliant. Thanks for doing this and being so supportive of the community as we eagerly wait to see this incredible tool perfected!

I'm trying to get the OSX build working with the vray standalone demo included with vray|maya 2011 from chaos group. Vray has been installed correctly (both the maya plugin and standalone) but I'm unable to get VB to render an image. I've tried exhausting every resource I could find to no avail. For one, on my system there isn't a profile.d directory in /etc -- only a "profile" file with the vray path NOT crossed out. And secondly, when I uncheck "detect vray" and navigate to the directory /Applications/Autodesk/maya2011.5/Maya.app/Contents/vray I get the error in the image attached saying "permission denied." Any help would be much appreciated =)

    thanks!

Try to re-login or restart - V-Ray sets some environment variables that may be not updated without re-login/restart. Then try again.

theLuthier, if error in permissions then check file/dirs/etc permissions. Try running vray from command line and look at the output. Also make sure to use the correct bitness (try using 32bit version).
