  • Distributed Rendering - Sorry!

    Hi, and as usual, great work Andrey.

    Quick question, testing DR Win-Win, almost working, the slave is trying to commence a render, but as I've read so many times here on different posts, 'scene is empty', even though the client machine is rendering fine. Obviously some kind of path problem, have checked, double and triple checked the paths, and they seem to work fine.

    However.... what I do notice is that in the shell on the remote slave, it says that it is trying to read a local file, something like //machine/Users/Administrator/AppData/Local/Temp/1/vrscene.txt but the file is not there on the remote slave.
    It did work once early on, although just rendered black buckets on the image, and even created the above mentioned directory and textile, but now it doesn't. Hmm!

    Q. Can I leave the exporter path to 'Global TMP Directory' or should I specify the shared folder here.

    Thanks for some help. R.

    Re: Distributed Rendering - Sorry!

    Investigated a little more this morning, and it seems that the client machine that has the VRDIR shared directory is not passing the vrscene file over to the slaves. The slaves are getting the command to render, but cannot find their vrscene file.

    Will check paths again, but this seem s a bit wierd.

      It needs the shared folder.
      //machine/Users/Administrator/AppData/Local/Temp/1/vrscene.txt
      I think this path is a bit strange.
      Is 'Users' a shared folder name?
