  • HDRI - HEMI - WORLD - Textures

    some small questions:

    1) If I only want to make use of the bgtexture (no gi/refl/refr) I have to check Background AND check GI/Ref/Refr and set it to zero.
Because if I only check bg, Gi influence is automatically on without enabling it.
Is this logic? VB issue or vray usability

    2) The intensity slider on textures of hemi-lights doesn't work for me. It does something when you enable it but doesn' really influences the real intensity of the light? (the influence slider has no effect)
hdri on hemi-light doesn't work for me either. (vb 2.62 osx)

    3) Can I exclude an object from hdri (world) reflections?

    thanks for any suggstion

    1. This is how it works. Background means "Global" here, Gi and others are to override this global background.
    2. Bug.
    3. There is "Environment priority" may be it help, but not sure how it works =)

Re: HDRI - HEMI - WORLD - Textures

      Thanks for the quick reply

      1) ok
      2) seems that the texture preview of world and light textures doesn't work eather, for me
      3) found that material override influence the way the material is reflected (not how it receives reflections). you can have a green cube on a reflective plane, with a blue reflection.

It seems, in Max you can use hdri with a dome light and can then exclude any object from the light gi/refl (instead of world-hdri)
