    Hi,

    With distribute rendering ON
    If bitmap color space is set to sRGB, slave render buckets looks brighter than server render buckets. (first image)
    If bitmap color space is set to Linear or Gamma Corrected, it doesn't happens. (second image)

    It's very odd, I use DR always, and I ever use sRGB for the textures.

    Have you tried to disable Color Management in shading panel of Blender Internal?
