  • Blender Units, should I work in meters, cm, dm or what?

    Hello there.
I'm playing with materials and I found that especially for glass and stuff, using 1BU=1m is way too small, for example, the glass "fog" or SSS settings has nothing to do with the preview.
I've noticed that some people are working in dm, which is very strange to me as I'm accustomed to either cm or meter. But I'll use whatever fits best. But what is it? I think V-ray needs a somewhat correct scale also to produce better images.

PS: In case Andrey read this: Why did you disabled the controls for native textures like clouds and noise? I need them for mesh displacement .

Vray doesn't support blender's procedural textures.

1 blender unit is typically 1 meter but doesn't really matter.

VRay has its own procedural textures: use custom build then use Texture Type -> V-Ray

So I'm gonna work in centimeters (1BU=1cm), is it okay?

Also, I know V-ray have procedural textures, but they doesn't work with the displacement modifier.

        Thank you guys.

oh, I see what your saying there. You using blender displacement. mmm yes atm you need to switch to blender render to adjust this.

Yeah yeah, anyway, I'm working in meters again because working in cm is a pain, all the controls get sluggish.
