  • a bit of questions about hardware

Having to upgrade my hw i have a little doubt:is preferible upgrade cpu or gpu? actually gpu seems don't work properly in the render opencl.
    But in future?
Distributed render in vray work only for movie or is possible enhanche the speed also in static image?
    Thank u in advance.

Actually it is a bet... I prefer to remain on cpu technology for now.

I recommend distribute render specially for static image; in movie or image sequence is more performing to use systems like Back-Burner, because there are less bottlenecks in comunication between the clients. But the distribute rendering is very comfortable to set (in Blender-Vray it works very well, better than other commercial programs) and sometimes we use distribuite render also for animation, despite the little loss of time during the render.

and using 3 pc with 3 cpu for example 3 8350 amd the time of render is about 1/3?
And ATI i s better in the viewport i say in very complex scene?
      p.s
gpu memory affect the viewport performance?

Thank you and excuse my bad english..

It depends to how long is the render (I consider distribute render), for a short render, about 2 minutes, the ratio can be 1/2. More long is the render, more the ratio reaches at 1/3, or 1/n (n=number of cpu).
Most of the time is lost at the first moment of the render. Sometimes it happens that some node is waiting, someone else is exchange data, while the main node is the only one that has started to render.

I've listen very good opinions about ATI, but I've not experience with these cards, only Nvidia Geforce and Quadro.

Yes, but you notice it with large scenes and with large texture.

          Hi Worofu,

You were mentioning backburner for rendering animations. Is it possible to use it with blender?

Lukily not There is an internal addon in blender that manages render as backburner does. You can search in preferences of blender.
