  • vray proxies and make real

Hello, it's not reaaly a bug, let's say it's an unexpected behaviour...

When I make real a linked group from another blend file, it doesn't change the vray proxy relative path according to the current file path. So, I've to update myself the path. This is disturbing because when I make real a linked group it updates all texture paths correctly.

I've noticed something similar. I use Absolute paths consistently in blender, and never move my assets from their library positions. This makes sharing assets between projects easier. I even changed the blender default behaviour for all textures to Absolute in the file (uncheck relative paths under User Preferences>File>Relative Paths. However, when I make a proxy, it assigns the proxy object with a relative path to the vrmesh file. I have to click on the 'file' tab and press return to accept. This applies the absolute path to the vrmesh file and all is well.

It would be really nice (and easier) if proxy creation and paths through linked objects all followed the settings options chosen in User preferences by

    Rob.

I agree with you, it should take preference into account.

However, sometimes I need to work with folks out from the studio here. So, I can't force them to use the same absolute path as us. (and, even worth, if they work on mac)

I'm not sure we could somehow affect on "making linked group local" function, I'll think on a workaround anyway.
